Correct Golf Grip
Golf Aids To Assist In Learning The Proper Golf
Grip
A player's grip is the only
contact he/she has with the golf club. Without a proper
and correct grip you will never really be fully successful on
the golf course. Don't make the mistake of trying to play golf and
improve without having the correct golf grip.
To
have a consistant, proper golf grip you need to develop
your muscle memory according to the right principles including
proper grip pressure. Sam Snead said, "Hold the club as if you
had a little baby bird in your hand." It has been recommended that
you have a pressure of 4 to 5 on a scale of 1 to 10. You can't let
the bird escape but you don't want to crush the little fellow
either! A grip that is too light will see the club turn in your
hand and you can't hit the club square on the ball. Too tight abd
your hands can't really work together in a smooth
motion.
There are three basic grips that you can work with
as seen below.
There is the Interlocking grip as seen
below.

Then we take a look at the 10 finger grip as seen below. Some folks
refer to this grip as the baseball grip because it is executed in
much the same manner. This grip is sometimes used by those with
arthritic problems to relieve discomfort in the hands and
wrists.

Grip
And last but not least we have what is termed the
Vardon overlap grip. harry
Vardon was a very great golfer around the turn of the 20th century
and he made this grip very popular. It is estimated that 90% of
golfers today use the Overlapping grip

The Vardon Grip [The Overlapping
Grip]
Choose the
grip that works for you. Some folks with smaller hands of
who lack strength in their hands use the baseball grip. Don't
pattern yourself after your favorite golfer. Do what works best for
your game, not someone elses.
Keep in
mind that many of the golf swing aids you can get today may also
come with a special grip that teaches you the proper golf grip
along with whatever golf fundamental that particular aid is
for - you lot get more for your money by looking for golf aids that
work in combination to improve your game. Most of these golf grip
aids will teach the overlapping grip.
"In golf there are certain
things you must do precisely, where being approximately right
is not enough. The grip is one area that being half right
accomplishes nothing. Being painstaking about learning a
proper grip rewards you a thousand times over."
